SAGE: Investor Summary
Pre-seed round, fall 2026
Stress, anxiety, and nervous system regulation draw enormous spending. We see nearly all of it going to downstream treatments. SAGE works upstream, in the language where meaning is made.
Company purpose
SAGE is an AI-powered coaching app built on a proprietary psychological model. With SAGE, we open a new category, Linguistic Nervous System Regulation (LNSR), our working name, and we intend to lead it. Many people invest in real estate. SAGE is an investment in real estate of the mind.
The problem
In 2024, 37% of adults worldwide felt stress during a lot of the previous day (Gallup, 2025). In the US, 67% of adults say they feel anxious about current events (American Psychiatric Association, 2025).
Through fifty years of practice, we see the same pattern. Between what happens to us and how we respond, we make meaning, mostly in habitual language. Meditation, breathwork, supplements, and medication help after meaning is made. Counseling and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) address meaning, mainly in sessions or after the fact.
The solution
SAGE, short for Subjective Awareness and Genuine Expression, teaches inside-out language. Outside-in language places the cause of an experience outside us and states views as facts: "He made me angry," or "The meeting was a waste of time." Inside-out language owns both: "I'm angering myself because of how I'm perceiving him," or "I didn't find value in the meeting."
We call the moment meaning forms the Waking Point. SAGE is practiced there, in real time, in every sentence we think and speak. The SAGE Companion, an AI guide, coaches people at any hour. The practice has been taught for about fifty years, first by psychologist John Weir and his wife, Joyce, then by Jake and Hannah Eagle.
Why now
AI can now map what a person says and guide them all day. AI-enabled companies took 54% of US digital health funding in 2025 (Rock Health).
The market
The US mental wellness market reached about $125 billion in 2024 (Global Wellness Institute, 2025). People pay monthly for guided practice. Calm has 4 million or more paying members, and Duolingo has 12.7 million. At SAGE's price, 100,000 members would bring in about $24 million a year, a scale reference rather than a forecast.
Competition
We haven't found a mass-market product working at the Waking Point, through language. Our advantages are a model refined over fifty years and a network of experts and institutions we believe will promote SAGE.
Traction
The Companion and Translator are working in beta. Before any formal outreach, three organizations are waiting on the subscription product:
- The William Glasser Institute, to train its trainers across 17 countries.
- True Life Medicine, with an active patient list of 300.
- Compass Integrative Recovery.
A pilot study with UC Berkeley PhD candidates is ready to begin.
Business model
A consumer subscription at $19.95 a month, plus a practitioner channel of doctors, therapists, and coaches licensed to use SAGE with clients. Courses, training, and an optional wearable follow.
Team
- Kevin Miller, Co-founder and CEO. Host of The Kevin Miller Podcast for more than a decade, with more than 1,700 episodes and 70 million downloads.
- Jake Eagle, Co-founder and Chief Product Officer. Licensed psychotherapist for 25 years, and builder of the SAGE Companion.
- Hannah Eagle, Co-founder and Director of Practice. Classical homeopath for 20 years, and co-steward of the practice for more than two decades.
Advisors: Randy James, MD; Jack G. Smith; and Jared Angaza.
Financials and the round
SAGE is pre-revenue, and the founders have funded its development to date. We're raising $250,000 on a post-money SAFE (Simple Agreement for Future Equity) with a $1.65 million valuation cap, closing in November 2026. Over ten months, the round funds the subscription product, the brand, launch with our partners, and the pilot study. We then intend to raise a priced seed round, working toward a valuation near $10 million.
If the seed round is priced at $10 million in about ten months, each dollar invested now would be worth about six dollars on paper. We acknowledge this is a higher-risk investment, with the potential for a higher reward. These figures are illustrative, not a guarantee, and the signed SAFE governs all terms.
Vision
The finished SAGE app is designed to work in the background, like a constant coach. With each person's consent, the app will read ownership and connection in their words and voice. Paired with the wearables people already own, the app will show how meaning-making moves with sleep, stress, and heart rate variability. Wearables changed physical health by measuring without effort, and we intend SAGE to do the same for how we make meaning. We call the future we're building the age of ownership.
