Compass Integrative Recovery
From Kevin Miller: context prior to our Nov 9, 2026 meeting
Following is an overview of a psychological model, the SAGE Process, that licensed clinicians John Weir and Jake Eagle practiced for over 50 years, but never brought mainstream. The creators felt the practice was too in depth to implement outside of "labs" lasting five to seven days. I discovered the concept two years ago and have devoted myself to co-developing the SAGE Process further and, through modern technology, bringing the practice to market at scale.
I've spent the past decade having discussions with over 400 of our most influential personalities in human potential, on The Kevin Miller Podcast: 1,757 episodes and over 70 million downloads. I see the SAGE Process as getting to a root issue of the declining human experience.
William Glasser, founder of Choice Theory, had a colleague who became his biographer, Jim Roy. Jim was introduced to Jake Eagle and has become a collaborator. Further, he introduced us to the leaders of the William Glasser International (WGI) organization. Jim has become a close friend of mine.
WGI views the SAGE Process as operationalizing Choice Theory, and we are preparing to train their trainers in 17 countries.
Meanwhile, through Randy James, my friend of almost 20 years, I've become friends with Jack Smith, who I've invited to be on the SAGE advisory board.
That background brings us to our Monday, Nov. 9 gathering to discuss the SAGE Process together.
SAGE is not yet launched to the general public. There's nothing to buy yet. What I'll share is a backdoor look at something happening that could be integral to CIR: something we could implement with CIR patients now, with your clinicians helping shape how the SAGE Process is used in recovery. Before the public launch, a small group of organizations is bringing the SAGE Process to their clinicians and patients: William Glasser International, True Life Medicine, and, if the fit feels right to you, CIR. I'd be honored for you to be part of that from the start.
Monday is a chance to see the SAGE Process up close, ask hard questions, and explore what using it with your patients could look like.
Following are a few key SAGE overviews as a primer for our Monday conversation.
